Sports Corner Daily’s Results Weekend Recap

Check out a quick recap of our FREE plays from yesterday. ⤵️

Friday 10/3/2025:  -2.1 Units

NCAAF:  Columbia +7 - 1 Unit (-110) - Lost - -1.1 units

NCAAF:  Charlotte +27.5 - 1 Unit (+102) - Lost - -1 unit

Columbia controlled the first half but couldn’t hold off Princeton’s late surge in a 17-10 Ivy League opener. The Lions jumped out to a 10-0 lead behind Lucas Bullock’s 2-yard score and a sharp opening drive capped by a 29-yard field goal. But missed red-zone chances proved costly. Princeton’s defense stiffened after halftime, forcing two turnovers and flipping momentum with a short-field touchdown early in the fourth. Ethan Clark’s 2-yard run gave the Tigers their first lead, and Esteban Nunez Perez’s 38-yard field goal sealed it. Columbia’s final drive reached the 42 before a last-play heave fell incomplete - a frustrating finish for a side that had looked in control most of the night.

Turnovers gave Charlotte every chance to hang around, but an explosive South Florida offense made sure the result was never in doubt. The Bulls stormed out to a 33-7 halftime lead behind quarterback Byrum Brown, who totaled 373 yards and five touchdowns in a 54-26 rout. The 49ers forced four takeaways - their most in nearly two seasons - but struggled to convert them into points. Zach Wilcke found E. Jai Mason for a late score and two-point conversion, while C.J. Stokes added a short touchdown run, yet the gap was too wide to bridge. Charlotte’s effort on defense showed flashes, but missed tackles and special-teams miscues kept them chasing from the start.

Saturday 10/4/2025:  -0.05 Units

NCAAF:  Iowa St. vs Cincinnati Over 54.5 - 1 Unit (-110) - Win - 1 units

NCAAF:  Michigan St. vs Nebraska Under 48.5 - 1 Unit (-105) - Lost - -1.05 unit

Saturday’s matinee in Cincinnati turned into the shootout we expected. The Bearcats jumped on Iowa State early, hanging 17 points in the first quarter and stretching the lead to 31-7 before halftime. Evan Pryor and Tawee Walker gashed the Cyclones on the ground for a combined 200 yards, while Brendan Sorsby’s 82-yard touchdown strike to Caleb Goodie in the fourth helped seal a 38-30 upset of No. 14 Iowa State. Rocco Becht kept the scoreboard moving with four total touchdowns of his own, leading the Cyclones’ rally that pushed the total well past the mid-50s. A fast start, explosive plays, and defensive lapses on both sides combined for a wire-to-wire Over that never felt in doubt.

For three quarters, it looked like we might sneak home with the Under - until Nebraska turned into a fireworks show. After falling behind 21-14, the Huskers ripped off 24 straight points behind Emmett Johnson’s three touchdown runs and a highlight 59-yard score from Nyziah Hunter. Special teams chaos added to the pace, with blocked punts, fumble recoveries, and long returns flipping field position all afternoon in a 38-27 final that soared over the number. Michigan State’s defense had no answer for Nebraska’s late burst, and what started as a grind-it-out Big Ten battle turned into a track meet by the fourth quarter.

Sunday 10/5/2025:  -0.2 Units

NFL: Tetairoa McMillan Over 64.5 Receiving Yards - 1 Unit (-114) - Win - 1 units

NFL:  Jets Team Total Over 23.5 - 1 Unit (-120) - Lost - -1.2 unit

Tetairoa McMillan continued to shine as Bryce Young’s most dependable target, clearing his number midway through the third quarter in Carolina’s comeback win over Miami. The rookie wideout hauled in six catches for 73 yards, routinely finding soft spots in the Dolphins’ coverage and keeping drives alive. His chemistry with Young was evident from the start, converting multiple key third downs and finishing with a team-high eight targets. Even as the Panthers leaned heavily on Rico Dowdle’s monster 206-yard rushing performance, McMillan’s consistency through the air helped balance the offense and pace the late-game surge. The 73-yard finish comfortably cashed the Over in a breakout performance from one of Carolina’s most reliable weapons.

The Jets moved the ball but never found the finishing punch in a 37-22 loss to Dallas. Justin Fields topped 280 yards passing but much of it came in garbage time, and New York failed to find the end zone until the second half when the game was already out of reach. Missed red-zone chances, a costly Breece Hall fumble, and five sacks from the Cowboys’ defense all combined to stall promising drives. A pair of late touchdowns made the box score look respectable, but by then the team total was already dead. Despite solid yardage, the lack of early efficiency kept the Jets stuck below the number in a frustrating no-show from the offense.

Brenton Strange over 3.5 receptions

Kansas City enters off a statement win over Baltimore, while Jacksonville has found its rhythm behind Trevor Lawrence and a balanced offense that’s quietly taken down back-to-back contenders.  This one shapes up as a battle of precision - Patrick Mahomes spreading the field against a turnover-hungry Jaguars defense, and Lawrence countering with efficiency underneath. Shota Imanaga under 3.5 strikeouts

Analysis:

Game 2 in Milwaukee brings another classic NL Central chess match - the Cubs looking to even the series behind Shota Imanaga, and the Brewers aiming to build on a 1-0 lead behind Aaron Ashby. Milwaukee has been money all year when favored at home, and their offense continues to find ways to manufacture runs without relying on power.  For Imanaga, the matchup is far from ideal… [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
