Sports Corner Daily’s Results Weekend Recap

Happy Monday (If there is such a thing). We had a decent weekend. We went 3-1 on FREE Play and 9-4 on VIP picking up 4.3 units. Had a few more emails come in with questions about what we mean by units. So, we feel it's necessary and a good time to get some information on how to calculate your unit size and how to place bets to make money over time and grow your bankroll. So, check out our ebook on how to follow a strategy and grow your bankroll.

Now, let's recap our plays from over the weekend, starting on Friday where the Houston Astros narrowly escaped with a 3-2, 10-inning win over the Los Angeles Angels. Jeremy Peña and Isaac Paredes opened the scoring with back-to-back first-inning homers, and Mauricio Dubón scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Over in Pittsburgh, the Texas Rangers topped the Pirates 6-2, thanks to Jacob deGrom’s six innings of one-run ball and Corey Seager’s first homer since May 10.

On Saturday, the Cleveland Guardians beat the Oakland A’s 4-2, behind Luis Ortiz’s six scoreless innings and José Ramírez’s 900th career RBI during a four-run second. Meanwhile, the New York Mets snapped a seven-game skid with an 11-4 rout of Philadelphia, powered by seven solo homers- including back-to-back-to-back shots from Lindor, Nimmo, and Soto in the third inning.

On Sunday, we crowned a new NBA champion as the Thunder captured their first NBA championship with a dominant 103–91 victory in Game 7 at home. Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander sealed his MVP season with 29 points and 12 assists—earning Finals MVP honors—while Jalen Williams added 20 and Chet Holmgren chipped in 18 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks. Indiana actually led 48–47 at halftime, even after Tyrese Haliburton exited in the first quarter with a serious Achilles injury following 3-of-4 threes early. But OKC flipped the switch in the third, ripping off a 34–20 run—holding Indiana scoreless for the first 7:29 of the fourth—leveraging a 23–8 edge in turnovers and turning them into 32 points . Alex Caruso’s perimeter defense and timely bench contributions helped seal the title, and the young Thunder completed an 84-win season with a historic playoff run.

The Tigers snapped a three-game slide with an emphatic 9–3 victory in Tampa. Riley Greene led the charge, collecting three hits (including doubles in the 2nd and 9th innings) and making several defensive gems in left field. Wenceel Pérez broke a 1–1 tie with a two-run homer in the 7th, and Parker Meadows capped off the offensive onslaught with a three-run blast in a rain-delayed sixth inning, contributing to a massive six-run rally that blew the game open. Starter Casey Mize worked five innings, yielding just one run on six hits with five strikeouts before departing due to a mild cramp. The Tigers’ bullpen, led by Tyler Holton, shut down the Rays over the final four frames, preserving the victory

Rangers to win

Analysis:

Patrick Corbin’s last outing for the Rangers was somewhat rough, marking the first time this season he’s allowed more than three runs in a game, indicating a slight bump in his usual consistency but not a major setback. His 3.91 ERA, while not outstanding, remains solid enough to give his team a dependable presence on the mound. Corbin’s performance comes at a pivotal point as Texas gradually makes progress in the AL West, having won 9 of their last 14 games and just securing another series win over Pittsburgh, reflecting a steady, if cautious, upward…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

Over 8.5

Analysis:

Tonight's matchup between Arizona and Chicago Sox is poised to be a high-scoring affair, likely reaching double digits, due to a confluence of strong offensive potential and pitching vulnerabilities on both sides. The Diamondbacks, despite not showing their offense on Sunday, have been a top-tier team in batting average and on-base percentage, with key players like Corbin Carroll and Ketel Marte capable of driving in runs consistently, while the White Sox have demonstrated offensive flashes, winning multiple recent games with four or more runs, indicating their offense can erupt when conditions are right. Both pitching staffs are struggling - Arizona's rotation suffers from injuries and…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
