Sports Corner Daily’s Results Yesterday’s Recap
We split the night yesterday going 1-1 on FREE Plays. Good news for all: we just brought on another football analyst that hit 68.3% of his football plays last year. He's already got some plays lined up for college kickoff. Exciting stuff ahead! Anyways, check out yesterday's recap below.
❌ MLB: Blue Jays to win - 1 Unit (-125) - LOST - -1.25 units
✅ MLB: Tigers to win - 1 Unit (-130) - WIN - +1 unit
Starting in Baltimore where the Orioles powered past AL East-leading Toronto with a dominant offensive showing. They racked up 16 hits, including back-to-back homers by Cedric Mullins and Coby Mayo, plus a long drive from Colton Cowser and a key three-run homer by Ramón Laureano. Adley Rutschman, returning from the injured list, collected three hits and drove in two. The Blue Jays managed runs from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Nathan Lukes, but their starter Chris Bassitt struggled, exiting after just 2⅓ innings as Baltimore built a commanding lead. The game was overshadowed by a scary moment in the ninth when George Springer was hit in the head by a 96 mph fastball and remained motionless briefly before exiting the game- he was later confirmed to be alert and walking under his own power
Over in Detroit, rookie Troy Melton made a memorable second career start for the Tigers, going seven shutout innings with five strikeouts, five hits allowed, and no walks to earn his first MLB win. Detroit struck early in the second inning- Andy Ibáñez tripled home a run, and Dillon Dingler followed with a two-RBI single. Dingler later homered in the sixth to extend the lead. Spencer Torkelson and Matt Vierling also drove in runs as the Tigers snapped Arizona’s six-game slide. The only run for the D‑backs came via Alek Thomas’ solo homer in the eighth, breaking a 25-inning scoreless stretch. Detroit’s bullpen closed it out cleanly to preserve the victory

Red Sox to win
Analysis:
Lucas Giolito has been a reliable performer for Boston over his last fifteen starts, posting a 3.97 ERA and a 1.26 WHIP, with a strikeout rate of 21.3% and a walk rate of 7.1%, though his ground ball rate of 36% and allowance of around 1.43 home runs per nine innings suggest some vulnerabilities. Darren McCaughan, making his start for Minnesota, has limited experience but has shown the ability to keep runs in check during his brief outings, with a career ERA around 6.02 and a WHIP of 1.57. Recently, Boston’s offense has been solid, batting .263 over 23 games, complemented by a strong bullpen ERA of 2.08, while Minnesota’s offense has cooled, hitting .232 in their last six games, with a struggling bullpen of 6.39 ERA. Giolito has been particularly effective on the road, with a 3.30 ERA in eight starts, which bodes well for Boston’s chances in Minnesota. Historically, Boston has performed well on the road against losing teams with a… [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
MLB: Chicago Cubs vs Milwaukee Brewers - 1 Unit (-120) - 7:40pm ET

Brewers to win
Analysis:
In this matchup, Collin Rea will start for Chicago, and his overall season stats of a 4.06 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 21 appearances show he's a steady but not overpowering pitcher, relying on ground balls at 36.4% and giving up 1.68 home runs per nine innings, which could become problematic against power-hitting teams. Opposing him, Quinn Priester for Milwaukee has performed slightly better this season, with a 3.28 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP across 19 appearances, with a solid 20.5% strikeout rate, 8.1% walk rate, and a ground ball rate of 57.5%, making him good at inducing weak contact and limiting long balls. Recent form shows Rea’s struggles, with a 4.72 ERA over his last ten outings, while Priester has been effective lately with a 2.35 ERA in his…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
