Sports Corner Daily’s Results Yesterday’s Recap

Congratulations to Cal Raleigh on crowning himself the 2025 MLB All-Star Home Run Derby champion in his debut appearance, outlasting Tampa Bay Rays star Junior Caminero and making history as the first catcher to win the event. The night in Atlanta was packed with some wild moments, including Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Oneil Cruz launching a stunning 513-foot home run, the longest of the night, before being eliminated in the semifinals. Hometown hero Matt Olson of the Atlanta Braves started strong but was knocked out early in the first round, while Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the New York Yankees managed only three shots before exiting. Early eliminations also included Athletics DH Brent Rooker and Washington Nationals left fielder, setting the stage for an exciting showdown among Raleigh, Caminero, Cruz, and Minnesota Twins star Byron Buxton at Truist Park. We got the All-Star game tonight. We have a couple WNBA Games. We cannot begin to tell you how ready we are for football season - not to mention fantasy football! Come ON!! This time of year is always boring in sports. As much as we love baseball, it's been a tough year in the betting game in the MLB. I came across an article on Sunday about how good the algo’s are getting in Vegas with the introduction to their new AI system’s help with the lines. We are in the process of vetting another new capper who is seeming to be pretty solid on the MLB side hitting 68.4% of his bets the last 5 weeks. We will be introducing some of his plays after all star break.

For the month of July on the free side we are down -3.45 units. It feels like more than that to be honest, probably because the last few days have been brutal. However, we have the utmost confidence we will be back on the positive side and end the month strong.

On the VIP Premium Pick side, if you’ve been with us since the start of July, we are sitting at a positive +4.63 units. For $100 bettors we are up $463. So, although we aren’t blowing it out of the water the first half of the month, we are on the positive side so we will take it all things considered! Tough first half of July - Looking forward to the second half of the month.

Lets take a look at yesterday’s plays starting in San Francisco where the Phoenix Mercury edged the Golden State Valkyries 78-77 with a clutch free throw by Alyssa Thomas with one second left. DeWanna Bonner powered the Mercury with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Thomas added 17 points. Golden State’s Veronica Burton led her team with 17 points and six assists, and Tiffany Hayes contributed 15, but the Valkyries staged a late comeback after Janelle Salaün hit a timely three. Despite shooting just 33.8%, Golden State nearly stole it before the missed layups and key foul call sealed their fate. This tight loss drops them below .500 after a tough stretch.

Next up we saw the Minnesota Lynx dominate the Chicago Sky with a balanced offensive effort and stifling defense. Napheesa Collier led the charge with 29 points, five assists, and three steals, while Courtney Williams added 18 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Kayla McBride contributed 15 points and Bridget Carleton chipped in 11. The Lynx smothered Chicago late, allowing just 15 points in the fourth quarter and scoring 24 off Sky turnovers. This win evens Minnesota’s season series and boosts their defense-based momentum.

Today we have another 2 bets lined up for you. Be sure to check out The Full Details and What the Public Thinks on these bets before jumping in. Let’s win some money!

National League to win

Analysis:

The National League heads into this year’s All-Star Game motivated to bounce back from last year’s 5-3 loss to the American League, although they did manage to end a nine-game losing streak two years ago with a narrow 3-2 win. However, given the frequent roster changes and opt-outs that occur each year, past results offer limited insight. This year, the NL appears to have the upper hand in talent, especially with stars like Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna, Kyle Tucker, and Freddie Freeman in the starting lineup. Meanwhile, the AL is missing several top pitchers, including…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

WNBA: Washington Mystics vs LA Sparks - .5 Unit (-115) - 10:00pm ET

LA Sparks +2.5

Analysis:

Washington enters this game on a three-game win streak, including an upset victory at Seattle as a seven-point underdog, but history and my analytics strongly suggest fading them tonight. Los Angeles has a proven track record of covering the spread against teams coming off back-to-back wins, with a 55-31-1 ATS record in those situations, while Washington has struggled after winning …[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
