In some hockey action last night, we saw the Pittsburgh Penguins lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 in a shoot out. Pittsburgh jumped out to a 3-1 lead early in the third period but couldn’t hang on to the lead and let Columbus score 2 goals in a row to force overtime. Dmitri Voronkov scored 2 goals for Columbus in the win. In our other hockey selection, we saw Edmonton beat Boston in a convincing 4-0 game. Adam Henrique scored 2 goals for the Oilers in the win, who move to 25-12-3 on the season. Boston on the other hand falls to 20-18-5 and have now lost 5 games straight.

In some college basketball action yesterday, Iowa got the overtime win over Nebraska 97-87. Iowa was led by 2 great performances from Payton Sandfort and Josh Dix who scored 30 and 31 points in the game. Iowa scored 21 points in overtime and moves to 11-4 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.
