Lets review Sports Corner Daily’s selections from yesterday. Starting in some college basketball action, #6 Houston defeated West Virginia 63-49. This game got out of hand pretty early, with West Virginia really struggling to score the ball against Houston's highly rated defense. Houston had a 20 point lead at halftime, but West Virginia cut the lead to 5 at one point in the second half, giving our West Virginia +8 pick some hope. Houston responded with a 9-0 run to pull back ahead and secure the win. That is now 13 straight wins for Houston who sits at 17-3 overall. 

In our other college basketball selection, Murray State lost to Evansville 78-74, hitting our over 131.5 pick. Both teams started out really slow in this one, with Murray State leading 25-20 at half. Luckily both teams were saving all of the offense until the 2nd half as both teams had an offensive explosion to secure our selection. Evansville was led by forward Gabriel Pozzato with 29 points. Evansville really needed the win as they have had a rough season so far and now sit at 8-14 overall. 

In some NHL action last night, the Utah Hockey Club lost a nail biter in overtime to the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2. Sidney Crosby scored the final goal for Pittsburgh in overtime as they improve to 21-24-8. It was a much needed win for Pittsburgh who had lost three straight games before this one. Pittsburgh has a lot of work to do if they want to make it to the playoffs this season.
