Sports Corner Daily’s 👀 Results from The Weekend

Sports Corner Daily had a great weekend with our selections, going 6-1 overall and were a Bills win away from perfection. Starting on Friday in some college basketball action, the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated Penn State 76-75, hitting our ML pick on Iowa. Penn State continues to struggle as of late and have now lost in 5 of their last 6 games. Iowa had a balanced attack with 4 starters scoring in double digits in the win. In some NHL action on Friday, the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Utah Hockey Club 5-2, securing our ML pick on the Jets.  This game was pretty close but the Jets got it going in the third period, scoring three goals in a row to secure the win. Center Cole Perfetti had a hat trick in this one for the Jets who now sit at 33-14-3 and sit at the top of the Western Conference standings. 

In some NBA action on Saturday, the Houston Rockets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 135-131, securing our over selection for the game. Forward Amen Thompson did it all for the Rockets with a nice triple double scoring 23 points and adding 10 assists with 14 rebounds. The Rockets have won 8 out of their last 10 and sit at 30-14 overall. In our other Saturday selection, the Calgary Flame defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-4, hitting our ML pick on Calgary. Minnesota dug themselves into a hole early but almost tied it up in the third period. Wing Andrei Kuzmenko had two goals in the game for Calgary who now sit at 24-17-7 on the season. 

On Sunday we saw the Winnipeg Jets defeat the Calgary Flames 5-2, hitting our ML pick on the Jets. The Jets have now won three games in a row and improve 34-14-3 on the season. Center Gabriel Vilardi had two goals and two assists for the Jets in the win. In some NFL playoff action yesterday, the Buffalo Bills were once again defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs 32-29. It was a back and forth game but the Chiefs defense got a huge stop when they needed it and are once again heading back to the Super Bowl where they will face the Philadelphia Eagles. Patrick Mahomes threw for one touchdown but also ran in two himself in the win. The Chiefs could be the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Watch to see whether Jimmy Butler returns for the Miami Heat, as his recent two-game suspension was expected to end after Saturday's game against the Nets.
