Your Daily Bets: NHL Value Picks & College Hoops Underdogs

Sports Corner Daily’s ðŸ‘€ Results from 01/14/2025

Sports Corner Daily had a split day yesterday, going 2-2 in our selections. In some NHL action the St Louis Blues beat the Calgary Flames 2-1, hitting our ML selection on the Blues. The difference in this one was the Blues scoring an initial goal in the first period as both teams scored a goal in the third period. In our other hockey pick, the Florida Panthers got a big shootout win over the New Jersey Devils 2-1. This game was scoreless till the very end, when both teams got a goal in the 3rd period to force overtime and then a shootout. The Panthers improve to 26-16-3 on the season and are primed to make the playoffs again coming off their Stanley Cup win last season.

In some college basketball action, we saw the Ohio Bobcats beat the Ball St Cardinals 86-71. Both teams have struggled to start the season, with Ohio improving to 10-6 on the season but are now 4-0 in conference play. It was a balanced attack for Ohio, who had 4 players score in double digits. In our other college basketball selection, our under in the Evansville Purple Aces vs Northern Iowa Panthers game hit as Northern Iowa defeated Evansville 73-56. Evansville falls to 6-12 on the season and are 3-4 in conference play. The first half from Evansville really helped our under pick, as Evansville only scored 18 points.

Looking forward to today, we have 4 picks for you. Be sure to check out The Full Details and What the Public Thinks on these bets before jumping in. Let’s win some money!

Today's LIVE Bets:

NCAAB: Holy Cross Crusaders @ Bucknell Bison- 8:00pm ET

Under 135

Analysis:

Tonight’s matchup between the Holy Cross Crusaders and Bucknell Bison is shaping up to be a low-scoring affair, making the under 135 points a strong consideration. Both teams average just 65.4 points per game, while defensively allowing 69.7 points per game each, highlighting their struggles to push the tempo. Their last meeting ended with a combined score of 132, underscoring their tendency for lower totals. Bucknell, a quintessentially slow-paced Patriot League team, has gone under the total in six straight games, including an overtime matchup against Lafayette that stayed below a modest 131.5 points. Contributing to these trends is Bucknell’s 41.8% field goal shooting and poor 29.9% accuracy from  [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NHL: Edmonton Oilers @ Minnesota Wild - 8:30pm ET

Minnesota +1.5

Analysis:

Tonight’s NHL matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild features two teams with nearly identical records, but the Wild hold a slight edge at home. Minnesota has been strong defensively, ranking second in the NHL with a .908 team save percentage and allowing just 1.95 even-strength goals per game. They are particularly formidable when leading, boasting a perfect 17-0-0 record when ahead after two periods and 14-2-1 when leading after one. Edmonton, on the other hand, may have their focus split with a critical game against [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Pitt Panthers @ Florida State - 9:00pm ET

Pitt -2.5

Analysis:

In tonight's ACC matchup, the Pittsburgh Panthers are favored by 2.5 points against the Florida State Seminoles. Pittsburgh has been performing well, boasting a 7-2-1 record against the spread in their last 10 games. Their offense is averaging 74.6 points per game, with standout performances from Jamarius Burton and Blake Hinson. Florida State, on the other hand,  [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Rhode Island Rams @ Loyola Chicago Ramblers - 9:00pm ET

Rhode Island +5

Analysis:

In tonight’s matchup at Gentile Arena, the Rhode Island Rams are positioned to cover the +5 point spread against the Loyola Chicago Ramblers, and there’s a case to argue that the wrong team might be favored. The A-10 has been a competitive conference, with underdogs excelling, and Rhode Island brings momentum following a 67-64 overtime win against Richmond, led by Sebastian Thomas’s 23-point performance. The Rams’ deep ten-man rotation supports their 80 points per game average and gives them versatility on both ends. Meanwhile, Loyola Chicago is struggling, with five losses in their last six games and a 1-8 record against [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
