Sports Corner Daily’s 👀 Results from 02/06/2025

Be on the LOOKOUT for a SPECIAL Edition from Sports Corner Daily on Superbowl Sunday for some Sunday action. We will Include a few Player Prop Bets as well!

Let's recap our selections from yesterday. Starting in the NBA the Indiana Pacers defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 119-112. The Pacers were led by forward Pascal Siakam who had 33 points and 11 rebounds. The Pacers had to rally big time in the 2nd quarter as they found themselves down 20 points after the first quarter. They managed to do just that, as they outscored the Clippers by 23 points in the second and took a three point lead to the halftime break. The Pacers improve to 29-21 and sit as the fourth seed in the eastern conference currently.

In some college basketball action, the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights and Central Connecticut Blue Devils scored a much higher total than anticipated as Central Connecticut got the win 87-66. The Blue Devils had a balanced attack in this game as all 5 starters scored in double figures. This game was close in the first half but the Blue Devils pulled away in the second half thanks to a 14-3 run. Central Connecticut improves to 17-6 on the season and are in first place in the Northeast conference standings.

In some hockey action last night, the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Calgary Flame 4-2. The second period was huge for the Avalanche as they scored 3 unanswered goals to take the 3-1 lead heading into the third and final period. Center Nathan MacKinnon assisted on all three goals for the Avalanche in the second period, as the Avalanche improve to 32-22-2 on the season. The Avalanche currently own a wildcard spot in the western conference and need to continue their recent hot play to hold on to it.

Looking forward to today, we have another 3 picks for you, all of which are hockey plays. Be sure to check out The Full Details and What the Public Thinks on these bets before jumping in. Let’s win some money!

Today's LIVE Bets:

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers  - 7:00pm ET

NY Rangers -1.5

Analysis:

Evgeni Malkin remains sidelined with an injury, and his teammate Sidney Crosby is uncertain for the upcoming game due to an upper-body injury, which could present a problem for the Pittsburgh Penguins if he is unable to play. Rookie goaltender Joel Blomqvist, sporting a record of 3-7-0 and a goals-against average of 3.59, is likely to start in the crease during a back-to-back game. The potential absence of Crosby could significantly impact the team's offensive output, as he averages approximately 1.24 points per game over his career. In his absence, the remaining forwards must step up to carry the scoring load. The public agrees with 89% of the bets placed on the spread is showing the public favors the Rangers on this one. [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NHL: New York Islanders @ Winnipeg Jets - 8:00pm ET

Winnipeg -1.5

Analysis:

Sorokin boasts a GAA of 2.64 and a save percentage of .927 this season, indicating his ability to keep the Islanders competitive despite adversity. The Jets, however, have a strong offensive lineup, putting pressure on both goalies. The Islanders' injuries will likely force inexperienced players into critical roles, potentially impacting their performance. With Hellebuyck also performing well, reflected in his GAA of 2.50 and a .918 save percentage, this game could result in plenty of scoring chances, making the prospect of betting on first-period overs enticing, especially as both teams continue to adapt to their evolving lineups. The public is heavy on the Jets to cover holding 84% of the bets on the puck line. [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NHL: Colorado Avalanche @ Edmonton Oilers - 9:00pm ET

Edmonton to win

Analysis:

The Colorado Avalanche secured a 4-2 victory against the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, overcoming an early lead by the Flames. However, the Avalanche played without top defenseman Josh Manson, who will again be unavailable for their upcoming game against the Edmonton Oilers. With backup goalie Scott Wedgewood injured and unlikely to participate, Colorado is set to start Trent Miner, who will be making only his second career start and third NHL appearance in a challenging environment against star players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. This situation presents a significant challenge for Miner, as McDavid averages an impressive 1.58 points per game and Draisaitl follows closely with 1.43 points per game, both of whom could exploit any weaknesses in the young goaltender's play. The absence of Manson may further complicate Colorado's defensive efforts against an offensive powerhouse like Edmonton, which ranks among the league leaders in goals per game. Overall, while the Avalanche have depth in their lineup, their reliance on an inexperienced goalie in such a high-pressure scenario raises concerns about their ability to maintain defensive solidity and protect their net against a formidable opponent. The public bets on the money line are against us here and lean heavily toward Colorado to secure the win as 72% of the bets are on the Avalanche on this one[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
