Sports Corner Daily’s 👀 Results from 02/05/2025
Let's recap our picks from yesterday. Starting in the NBA, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat up the Phoenix Suns 140-109, covering our Thunder -12 selection. The Thunder absolutely demolished the Suns in the third quarter of this game, outscoring the Suns 43-16. The Thunder were led by MVP front runner Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who put up 50 points in the game. The Suns recent struggles continue as they have now lost 4 of the last 5 and sit at 25-25 overall.
In our other NBA pick of the night, the Orlando Magic defeated the Sacramento Kings 130-111. The Magic were led in this one by forward Franz Wagner who scored 31 points. It was a much needed win for the Magic who had lost 9 out of the last 10 games but got one back here. The Kings may need some time to gel after trading point guard De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs and getting back guard Zach LaVine.
In some NHL action, the New York Rangers defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2, making our Rangers -1 selection a push. The Rangers had to rally in the third period as they trailed 2-1 after the second. Luckily they did just that as they scored a shorthanded goal about halfway through the 3rd period to take the lead and secure the victory. The Rangers improve to 26-23-4 overall on the season.
Our final pick from yesterday was in some college basketball action as the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds defeated the Lafayette Leopards 71-58. The Greyhounds got their revenge from the first meeting between these two teams, where the Leopards won in convincing fashion. Greyhound forward Milos Ilic led all scorers in this game with 17 points. Both teams have struggled overall this season, but the Greyhounds improve to 10-12 overall.

Today's LIVE Bets:
NCAAB: Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights @ Central Connecticut St. Blue Devils - 8:00pm ET
Under 139.5
Analysis:
Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) typically avoids high-scoring games, having only surpassed the total in Northeast Conference play against LeMoyne, hitting the under in six consecutive games and 10 of their last 11. A concern for the Knights is their leading scorer, G Terrence Brown, who averages 20.9 points but has failed to meet this mark in four of his last five games, converting only 7 of 33 from beyond the arc since December 18. Notably, he missed a recent 71-60 home loss to Central Connecticut State, during which teammate Ahmed Barba-Bey scored 25 points. Meanwhile, Central Connecticut continues to thrive defensively, allowing just 59 points per game over their last nine Northeast contests. This trend indicates that FDU is likely to keep seeing low-scoring matchups unless…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
NHL: Colorado Avalanche @ Calgary Flames - 9:00pm ET
Calgary +1.5
Analysis:
Although the Colorado Avalanche are the stronger team, betting on the Calgary Flames with a +1.5 spread at home is appealing. This situation seems tricky, particularly with Colorado facing a crucial game against Edmonton on Friday, which could be a preview of the Western Conference Finals. The Avalanche's goaltending is a concern, as Mackenzie Blackwood has started five straight games, potentially leaving them with either a rusty Scott Wedgewood or inexperienced Trent Miner. Additionally, Colorado's away record of 11-16 against the spread highlights their vulnerability, while Calgary’s Dustin Wolf shows promise…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
NBA: Indiana Pacers @ LA Clippers - 10:30pm ET
Clippers to win
Analysis:
The Indiana Pacers are in a tough spot as they approach their third road game in four nights, having narrowly defeated Utah and then suffered a heavy loss to Portland. They may also be looking ahead to a highly anticipated matchup against the Lakers featuring Luka Doncic on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have just returned from a long road trip and performed poorly against the Lakers, which is likely an isolated incident. With the NBA Trade Deadline approaching, betting on this game requires caution, as neither team is expected to make significant moves beforehand. Additionally, the new Intuit Dome has proven challenging for opponents, contributing to a low 74.7% free-throw shooting…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
