Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap
Last night Sports Corner Daily had a successful night, going 3-2 overall. Lets recap our college basketball heavy selections from last night, where we saw Jackson State defeat Bethune-Cookman 84-71, hitting our over 144.5 selection. Both teams have struggled this season but have rebounded nicely in conference play. Jackson State moves into a tie for second place with the win, sitting at 9-4 in conference play, 3 games back of first place.
Next, we saw the Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks defeat the East Texas A&M Lions 76-74, narrowly losing on our Stephen F Austin -3.5 pick. Our selection was in a good place with the Lumberjacks leading by 5 with under 30 seconds to play, but the Lions made a last 3 pointer with about 12 seconds left to blow our cover on the game. Stephen F Austin improves to 14-13 on the season and 7-9 in conference play.
In our next selection, the South Carolina State Bulldogs defeated the Coppin State Eagles 87-57, hitting our Sc State -16.5 selection on the game. Coppin State stayed somewhat close throughout the first half, but was unable to stay close in the second half, where they were outscored by 18 points. Coppin State has had a bad season, now sitting at 4-20 overall. South Carolina State improves to 6-3 in conference play and are just two games back from first place in the conference standings.
Next up we saw the Incarnate Word Cardinals defeat the UT Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros 66-60, blowing our ML selection on the Vaqueros. The Vaqueros were in a great spot heading into half as they had a 5 point lead, but were outscored by 11 points in the second half to lose the game outright. Incarnate Word improves to 13-14 overall on the season with the win.
Finally, in our last selection of the night, the Duke Blue Devils defeated the Virginia Cavaliers 80-62, hitting our over 131.5 selection on the game. Duke was led by freshmen Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg who both put up 17 points in the win. The Cavaliers vaunted defense was unable to slow Duke down, as Duke led by 14 at half and shot over 50% from the field in the game. Duke improves to 23-3 overall on the season and are in a good spot to get a 1 seed in the tournament.

Florida -14.5
Analysis:
The Sooners find themselves in a dire situation, akin to a sinking ship, as they struggle to regain their footing after a promising victory over Vanderbilt, having since suffered four straight losses with significant margins of 28, 18, and 24 points, including a particularly disappointing home game against LSU. This alarming decline not only raises concerns about their tactical approach but also highlights potential issues with their mental and physical resilience, as teams in such turmoil often grapple with confidence as much as strategy. As they prepare for tonight's game against Florida, there remains a slim chance that the Gators might underestimate their opponent, potentially giving Oklahoma a glimmer of hope. However, if Florida comes prepared and focused, their superior talent and the advantage of playing at home strongly…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
NCAAB: Butler Bulldogs @ Xavier Musketeers - 8:00pm ET
Over/Under - 👈 Click to get more info on tonights match up
Over 153.5
Analysis:
The trend of overs has become a common theme for both teams recently, adding an exciting layer of intrigue as Xavier approaches mid-February while hovering around the NCAA Tournament cut line. Under Sean Miller's leadership, the offense has seen a significant boost, averaging 88 points per game over the last two outings, contributing to a remarkable seven-game streak of games going over the total. Senior forward Zach Freemantle has been a standout performer, averaging 20 points per game over the past three games, demonstrating his crucial role in the offensive resurgence. Additionally, Toledo transfer guard Dante Maddox Jr. has made an impressive impact off the bench, scoring a total of 50 points over consecutive games, showcasing the depth and versatility of the roster. On the other side, Thad Matta’s Butler Bulldogs have also been trending toward high-scoring games, hitting the over in four straight contests and nine of their last ten. They have been prolific as well, averaging 88 points per game in their last three outings, highlighted by Michigan State transfer…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
NCAAB: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Wisconsin Badgers - 8:30pm ET
Money Line - 👈 Click to get more info on tonights match up
Wisconsin to win
Analysis:
Illinois is facing a significant setback with the loss of freshman Morez Johnson Jr., who will be sidelined for several weeks due to an injury sustained during a surprising 14-point home defeat to Michigan State. This injury compounds the Illini's recent struggles, as they have been plagued by inconsistency stemming from various injuries and illnesses within the team. Johnson, standing at 6-foot-9, had been a vital contributor, averaging 7.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game while starting in recent matches. His absence will likely exacerbate Illinois' challenges, particularly in maintaining their defensive and rebounding presence. On the other hand, the Wisconsin Badgers have been on a roll, showcasing their strength with an impressive 94-84 victory over No. 7 Purdue, marking their fourth consecutive win. Wisconsin's offense has been prolific, reaching 80 points in 14 games this season, the most for the program since 1970-71, while also boasting a strong defensive record that places…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
NCAAB: South Carolina Gamecocks @ LSU Tigers - 9:00pm ET
Against the spread - 👈 Click to get more info on tonights match up
LSU to win
Analysis:
The transformation for South Carolina coach Lamont Paris over the past year has been striking. Just last season, he was a candidate for National Coach of the Year and even drew interest for the Ohio State job; however, now he finds himself potentially facing the hottest seat in the SEC as his team sits at an alarming 0-12 in conference play. This drastic change highlights the volatility of college coaching careers, where a single season can dramatically alter perceptions and job security. On the other hand, LSU has managed to stay slightly ahead in the SEC standings, securing two conference wins, including a surprising upset over Oklahoma this past Saturday. However, the Tigers have also faced their share of challenges, missing key players like Derek Fountain due to illness and Corey Chest due to back issues in recent games, though both are listed as probable for their upcoming contest on Tuesday. Realistically, this matchup represents one of LSU's final opportunities to secure a win in the regular season, especially considering their 10-4 home record. Against a backdrop of South Carolina's struggles, LSU will be looking to capitalize on their…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
