Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap

Sports Corner Daily had another successful night, going 2-1 in our picks. Lets recap our selections, starting in some NBA action where the Minnesota Timberwolves got the win over the Oklahoma City Thunder 116-101, blowing our OKC -6.5 selection. Minnesota has been on a roll lately, winning 9 of the last 13 games after last night. Minnesota had three guys score over 20 points but was led by center Naz Reid who had 27 points and 14 rebounds. OKC falls to 44-10 overall, still good enough for first place in the western conference with a sizable 8 game lead over second place.

In some college basketball action last night the Maryland Terrapins defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers 83-75, hitting our over 147.5 pick on the game. The game was pretty close throughout, with Maryland briefly getting the lead to 11 before Nebraska responded and cut the lead back down to 4. Maryland was led by center Derik Queen who had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Maryland improves to 19-6 overall and 9-5 in conference play.

In our last selection of the night, the South Alabama Jaguars defeated the Marshall Thundering Herd 91-82 in overtime, hitting our South Alabama ML selection. South Alabama outscored Marshall 14-5 in overtime to secure the victory. South Alabama improves to 17-9 and are 9-4 in conference play, just one game behind first place in the Sun Belt conference standings.

Notice there are two plays for the first game on the list today - Saint Louis Billikens vs Loyola Chicago Ramblers and two additional NCAAB plays. 2️⃣ Over/Under

Under 140.5

Analysis:

Tonight's Atlantic 10 matchup features the Billikens and Loyola, both vying for a top-four finish in the conference. Saint Louis has struggled recently, losing two straight and four of their last six games. Meanwhile, Loyola has just suffered its first home league defeat to a strong VCU team but has since remained unbeaten at Gentile Arena, winning 19 of their last 20 home games. The clash highlights a contrast in styles, with SLU excelling offensively while Loyola boasts a stronger defense, along with better three-point shooting. Additionally, the Billikens sit at the bottom of the A-10 in turnover margin, averaging -2.36 per game. The solid play here is the money line which the public bets agree holding 74% of the bets on the Ramblers here.

Now on the total points side. The recent score from Saint Louis' game against George Mason is somewhat misleading due to a late-game scoring surge and an overtime period, yet the Billikens have continued to trend towards the under on total points. Prior to their matchup with Mason, Saint Louis had recorded 12 unders in their last 13 games and 18 in the last 21, indicating a strong preference for low-scoring affairs. This shift in play style comes from first-year head coach Josh Schertz, who is implementing a slower pace than during his previous two years at Indiana State, mainly due to a lack of depth beyond his "Big 3"—former Sycamores C Robbie Avila and G Isaiah Swope, along with returning G Gibson Jimmerson—all of whom…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: N. Kentucky Norse @ Green Bay Phoenix - 8:30pm ET

3️⃣ Against the spread (ATS) - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

N. Kentucky -6.5

Analysis:

The situation at Green Bay is troubling, as the players are being led by a part-time coach who appears more focused on salvaging his media career than genuinely developing as a Division I coach. This has resulted in a dismal performance, with the team going just 4-16 against the spread (ATS) in their last 16 games. They have also struggled after losses, posting a 6-14-2 ATS record, and have a poor 3-9-2 ATS mark within the conference. In their previous matchup, the Norse defeated Green Bay by a significant 18-point margin. The statistics reveal that Green Bay is particularly vulnerable when favored by 5 to 15 points, holding a record of just 1-9 ATS in those situations. On the other hand, Northern Kentucky has been playing competitively against strong opponents like North Texas, Robert Morris, and Cleveland State, indicating their…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

NCAAB: Nevada Wolf Pack @ San Jose St. Spartans - 10:00pm ET

4️⃣ Against the spread (ATS) - 👈  Click to get more info on tonights match up

San Jose St +6

Analysis:

The Spartans have been effective at covering the spread, boasting an impressive 9-2 record against the spread (ATS) at home and an 11-2-1 ATS record in conference play. This is particularly noteworthy given that they have navigated through some injury issues but are still competing at a high level. In contrast, Nevada has struggled, with a 2-5 ATS record on the road and just 4-9 ATS in the conference, indicating difficulties in consistently performing away from home. When examining their scoring margins in conference games, there’s only a narrow gap between the two teams, suggesting that matchups tend to be competitive. In their previous encounter, Nevada was unable to cover the spread despite an outstanding shooting performance, hitting 11 of 15 three-pointers. This highlights a trend; Nevada's slower playing style can be a disadvantage, especially on the road, where it becomes challenging to secure leads. Meanwhile, San Jose State has shown a knack for keeping games close, which could play a critical role in future matchups, particularly if Nevada continues to…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
