OK… Now onto yesterday's plays where we split the night on FREE Play. Starting in Pittsburgh at PNC Park, the Giants routed the Pirates 8-1 behind a complete-game performance from Logan Webb. Webb tossed six innings of one-run ball and struck out 10 without issuing a walk- marking his fourth outing this season with double-digit strikeouts and zero walks. Christian Koss and Jerar Encarnacion homered early to set the tone, and Willy Adames added a two-run blast in the fifth. Every San Francisco starter collected at least one hit. Pittsburgh starter Mike Burrows struggled, allowing six runs (three homers) over 4⅔ innings. The bullpen preserved the shutout ball control for the Giants’ first win over the Pirates in five tries this season.
Next, the Brewers extended their dominant form with a convincing 7–2 win at Truist Park—their fifth straight victory and a boost to MLB’s best record. Freddy Peralta delivered a strong outing, going five innings and allowing just one run on four hits with seven strikeouts. Milwaukee broke the game open with a four-run third inning fueled by Andrew Vaughn’s two-run single, while Isaac Collins added 2 key RBIs. For Atlanta, Eli White’s solo homer off Peralta was their only blemish. Nick Mears, Aaron Ashby and Grant Anderson shut the door late as the Braves couldn’t capitalize on multiple scoring opportunities.
