Sports Corner Daily’s Results Weekend Recap

Geesh… How the weekend flies. Had some solid games over the weekend. We tend to stay away from Preseason football as some of the games feel like a back yard pick up game. It shows on the betting boards too because the lines are all over the place. So, as we have been studying up and watching the games, we are not placing any bets until the regular season (right around the corner).

We had a split weekend on our FREE plays going 3-3. We are down about a half a unit. Again, I know the frustration when we split. But, let me just remind you.. Sports Corner Daily is up on the books this year. As we have said before, we clean up during football season, and we also had a good basketball season. Check out a screenshot of our returns and track record on the year.

Our VIP Players had a solid week last week coming in just shy of 8 units on the week. We will continue the momentum into this week! Below is a quick recap of our FREE plays from the weekend. ⤵️

Starting our recap on Friday where the Houston Astros edged the New York Yankees 5-3 in a dramatic 10-inning showdown, hitting our Astros selection. Carlos Correa broke the tie with a clutch go-ahead single, and Taylor Trammell followed with a two-run homer to seal the win- capsulating another costly collapse by Justin Williams in extra innings. In Baltimore, the Orioles secured a 3-2 win over the Athletics, making our Athletics selection a loss, sparked by first-inning solo homers from Adley Rutschman and newly returned Ryan Mountcastle. Starter Tomoyuki Sugano held strong for seven innings, while Keegan Akin contributed a steady finish in relief.

On Saturday, the Phillies topped the Rangers 3-2, making our Rangers selection a loss, thanks to a go-ahead two-run double by Max Kepler in the seventh and an RBI single from Bryson Stott. Jesús Luzardo tossed six solid innings, and Jhoan Duran closed out the win, handing Jacob deGrom his third straight loss. Meanwhile, the Brewers outlasted the Mets 7-4 in Milwaukee, hitting our Brewers selection. Despite Pete Alonso tying the Mets’ home run record, Milwaukee answered with a four-run seventh- highlighted by a two-run shot from William Contreras- to complete a comeback from a 4-3 deficit.

Yesterday, the Brewers completed a thrilling sweep of the Mets with a 7-6 walk-off victory, once again hitting our Brewers pick. Down 5-0 at one point, they rallied behind homers from William Contreras and a game-tying single by Joey Ortiz, before Isaac Collins delivered the decisive walk-off blast. At Target Field, the Twins knocked off the Royals 5-3 in 11 innings on a walk-off two-run homer by Luke Keaschall, making our Royals selection a loss. Rookie Ryan Fitzgerald opened the scoring with his first MLB homer, and reliever Michael Tonkin preserved the win with two shutout innings.

Today we have another 2 bets lined up for you. Be sure to check out The Full Details and What the Public Thinks on these bets before jumping in. Let’s win some money!

Brewers -1.5

Analysis:

Momentum is everything in baseball, and right now the Brewers have it in spades. Winners of nine straight and an incredible 48 of their last 64 games (.750), Milwaukee is playing like a team that expects to win every night and usually does. They just swept the Mets and now turn to former Pirate Jose Quintana, who has been a steady hand at the back of the rotation. The Brewers have come out on top in 12 of his 17 starts this season, including both of his outings in August, thanks to his ability to limit damage and give the bullpen a lead to protect. Pittsburgh, meanwhile, could not be in a worse…Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

MLB: Tampa Bay Rays vs Athletics - 1 Unit (-110) - 10:05pm ET

Tampa Bay to win

Analysis:

Ryan Pepiot takes the mound for Tampa Bay tonight, bringing a 3.77 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and a solid 24.1% strikeout rate over 24 starts, though he’s been a bit susceptible to the long ball at 1.59 HR/9. Oakland counters with Jeffrey Springs, who owns a 3.89 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 24 outings, striking out just under 20% of hitters with similarly modest walk rates, but his low ground ball rate (32.1%) has also led to some home run trouble. The biggest edge may come from the bullpens, where the Rays have been strong lately with a 3.10 ERA over their past 25 games, while Oakland’s home bullpen has…[Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...
