Sports Corner Daily’s Results and Yesterday’s Recap

Nice day on our FREE picks going 2-0 on the day! Let’s keep it rolling!!

MLB - Pittsburgh Pirates to win - 1 Unit - Win
MLB - Detroit Tigers to win- 1 Unit - Win

Before we get into yesterday's recap, I wanted to get into a little house keeping to kick things off today. We get countless responses to our newsletter on a daily basis. The most common question we get is, “What do you mean by UNIT?” or “How do I calculate a unit?”. So, I think it is a good time to give a quick breakdown to help you all out and get on the same page!

First, what is a unit? Again, probably the most common question we get asked. A unit in sports betting is a measurement of the size of a given bet. It's mainly used because everyone's bankroll is different and a unit refers to the percentage of a bankroll. One unit is usually equal to one percent of a bankroll, though it's not the same for everyone. If you are a little more risk averse you can go on a fixed amount of $10, $25, $50, $100 etc. Just stay consistent. Once you decide what you are comfortable with when it comes to YOUR unit size let that be the unit you stick with. There is no one size fits all. The benefit of going with a percentage of your total cash is you can compound your total bankroll and your unit size grows over time. You can make a lot of money betting if you take it seriously and stick to a plan. The formula is simple once you get the hang of it. To figure out what to bet on each bet use the below...

FORMULA: (ODDS of bet / 100) X Your Unit Size

So, to figure out what to bet on each play, just use that simple formula, stay consistent and GROW your bankroll!

On the opposite side, meaning a positive odds spread, you simply bet your unit size. See table below.

FORMULA: Profit = (ODDS of bet / 100) X Your Unit Size

Hope this helps. It takes the emotion out of betting and allows you to focus on growing your bank!

Now, lets recap our 2-0 day yesterday, in some MLB action, the Pittsburgh Pirates secured a narrow 1–0 victory over the Washington Nationals, with Oneil Cruz delivering a leadoff home run in the first inning. Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney was instrumental in the win, pitching 7⅓ scoreless innings and allowing only five hits. The Pirates' bullpen maintained the shutout, handing the Nationals their second consecutive loss in the series.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Tigers defeated the Kansas City Royals 6–1, marking their sixth win in seven home games. Spencer Torkelson led the offense with a two-run double, while Riley Greene contributed three hits and two RBIs. Reese Olson earned the win by pitching five innings and allowing just one run, and Tommy Kahnle secured the save with two scoreless innings. The Royals' losing streak extended to four games.

Miami ML

Analysis:

This is a spot where we trust Erik Spoelstra and the Heat coaching staff—this team consistently rises to the occasion in play-in scenarios, and that’s no coincidence. Over their final 15 regular season games, Miami ranked top 5 in advanced metrics with a +9.4 net rating, showcasing both offensive efficiency and defensive discipline. They recently held the explosive Bulls offense in check on the road and now face a similarly fast-paced Atlanta squad. Expect the Heat to focus their defensive scheme on limiting Trae Young’s impact while exploiting Atlanta’s weaknesses on the other end. Miami's revamped offense… [Click here to get the Full write up on this bet]...

MLB: Chicago WS vs Boston - 1 Unit (+104) - 7:10pm ET

Boston -1.5

Analysis:

The Boston Red Sox are in a strong position to cover the -1.5 run line against the struggling Chicago White Sox in their upcoming matchup. Boston’s offense has been clicking, led by key contributors like Rafael Devers and Jarren Duran—both of whom have been consistent threats at the plate, especially in home games. On the mound, Tanner Houck provides a reliable option with strong underlying metrics, including a low ERA and solid strikeout-to-walk ratio, giving the Red Sox a clear edge in the pitching matchup.
